One-to-One Tuition
We consider one-to-one tuition to be by far the most effective way for a pupil to learn. The progress one pupil can make in a matter of weeks can be immense. There are a number of reasons why it works so well:
-
Pupils feel more confident when they have the full attention of a specialist who assesses their work in their presence and guides them as they work.
-
There are no distractions for the pupil when they work one-to-one.
-
The tutor can offer their full lesson time to one pupil alone.
The tutor will first assess your child, then create a personalised action plan in order to maximise their chances of success in their exam. Our tutors draw on a wide range of teaching methods. Pupils find our approach caring, enjoyable and highly motivating. All our tutors are DBS checked and qualified.

Online Tuition
Some of our tutors deliver tuition via Skype, WhatsApp, FaceTime and Zoom.

Over the years, we have delivered English, maths and science tuition online to dozens of pupils throughout the UK, Brunei, the USA, China, India and Uganda. We have a strong track record of success over ten years and countless pupils have achieved strong grades and gained entry to some of the top selective state and independent schools in across the UK, through online lessons alone. Since March 2020, the start of the coronavirus outbreak, hundreds of hours of lessons have been delivered online. Parents are increasingly realising that their children can learn and progress through online lessons just as much as face-to-face lessons. Pupils can use phones, tablets or computers.
Practice papers and homework are emailed to parents and they photograph their child’s work and email it back to the tutor, enabling the tutor to see the same work that the child has in front of them during the lesson.
The tutor then goes through the work with the pupil in the next session, in the same way as a face-to-face lesson. Online tuition is as effective as face-to-face tuition and can be far more convenient for parents and pupils.
All our tutors are qualified teachers with years of experience in teaching. We have a proven track record of successfully preparing children for English, maths and science exams, including SATs, GCSEs, A-levels and 11+ exams, with children going on to achieve impressive grades.
Interview Preperation
Independent grammar schools are increasingly making use of interviews as a method of selecting potential pupils. Pupils can find these interviews immensely daunting and intimidating, even if they achieved strong scores in the entrance examinations. Some interviews even involve ‘activities’, in which children are observed taking part in a range of tasks. They are judged on the problem-solving (and other) abilities they show when they undergo these activities. Even the most confident adults in professional careers can become anxious and worried for weeks before an important interview. This stress and anxiety is magnified for children who have to undergo the same process in order to stand a chance of gaining a place at their ideal school.
We know the fear and anxiety children face before attending their crucial school interview, we know the kinds of questions that will be asked at the interview and we know the best way to prepare your child for their interview. Our interview preparation sessions have successfully helped dozens of children prepare for their grammar school interviews and increased their confidence and readiness to answer questions put to them. In addition to helping your child reflect on their strengths, weaknesses and ways to develop, we equip them with the tools they will need to answer questions they might not expect, including difficult problem-solving questions based around hypothetical situations. We will also prepare your child to speak and conduct themselves in a way that befits the atmosphere of a large, grand grammar school. In addition, we offer mock interview sessions, which enable children to build confidence in the real interview through practising and receiving immediate feedback in the mock sessions.

11+ Tuition
There are two main types of 11 Plus exam:
-
GL assessment is used by several schools. Pupils are tested on English, verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and mathematics.
-
Independent schools and some state schools set their own tests. Most will test pupils on comprehension, writing and mathematics. Some will also have verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning sections.
We have a team of specialist 11+ tutors who have access to a wide range of different types of 11+ practice paper used in the various schools across a range of towns, cities and counties. This enables your child to prepare using the types of exam papers used by the schools your child is applying to.
Our tutors have successfully prepared hundreds of children, who have been offered places at dozens of grammar schools across the country.
